By accessing or using OpenAgData, you agree to these terms of service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Description of Service

OpenAgData organizes agricultural research by the place it was conducted. Selected index records, hubs, paper records, and funding information can be browsed publicly. The evidence layer built on top of that index — extracted findings, coverage and gap analysis, reports, managed portfolios, and data delivery — is paid work, offered through institutional engagements and licensed access. Limited public previews may be provided.

User Accounts

• You may browse the platform without an account.
• An account is required to submit research papers or access certain features.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account.

Research Submissions

• By submitting research to OpenAgData, you confirm that you have the right to share this information.
• Submissions should be accurate and represent legitimate agricultural research.
• We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove submissions that do not meet quality standards.
• You keep every right you already hold in your own work. Submitting does not transfer ownership of anything.
• By submitting, you grant OpenAgData a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to index, store, display, analyze, and distribute the submitted record as part of the platform and the products built on it.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or spam content
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data
• Use automated tools to scrape large volumes of data without permission
• Interfere with the operation or security of the platform

Disclaimer

OpenAgData is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The research information on this platform is sourced from public publications and is provided for informational purposes. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of any research findings. Always consult with qualified professionals before making agricultural decisions based on research findings.

Intellectual Property

The OpenAgData platform — its design, code, and branding — is owned by the OpenAgData project. So is the work built on top of the literature: the extracted findings and effect sizes, the resolved study locations, the curation and review decisions, the evidence-gap and coverage analyses, and the reports generated from them. These are made available under a written agreement or the terms of an issued API key, and may not be redistributed, resold, or republished without one.

Two things are deliberately outside that. Bibliographic facts — a paper's title, authors, DOI, journal, and year — are facts, and we claim no ownership of them. Abstracts and full texts belong to their authors and publishers; we index and link to them but grant no rights in them, and any use of a paper itself is governed by its publisher's terms.

Citing a finding you have licensed access to, with attribution to OpenAgData and to the source publication, is always permitted and encouraged.

Limitation of Liability

OpenAgData and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or reliance on information found through it.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
